Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
In short. Nitxy makes the Nitxy PDF app for Windows (also called NIT PDF Editor Pro), the English Speaking app, and the website nitxy.com. Nitxy PDF works on your computer: your PDF files are opened, edited and saved on your own device and are not sent to us unless you use the optional online editing feature. The Nitxy PDF app shows no ads and uses no analytics or tracking tools. We only handle personal data if you choose to create an account (for online editing, the free-month offer, the English Speaking app or on our website). If you tick the box for it, we also send you product news and offers. This policy lists exactly what is collected, why, who receives it and how to stop it.
1. About this policy
This policy explains what information our apps, our website at nitxy.com and our servers (“the servers”) handle. “Nitxy”, “we”, “our” and “us” mean Kajal Rajput, the publisher of the apps and operator of the website and servers. It covers:
- Nitxy PDF (Microsoft Store name: Nitxy Pdf Editor Pro; website name: NIT PDF Editor Pro) and its free-month offer and online editing: sections 2 to 7.
- The English Speaking app: section 8.
- The nitxy.com website: section 9.
- Sections 10 to 14 apply to everything above.
2. Nitxy PDF: if you only use the app
If you use the app on your device and never create an account, enter a promo code or use the optional online features, we receive nothing: no documents, usage statistics, device identifiers or personal information. The app contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.
- Your documents are read and written locally. Viewing, commenting, editing, organizing, OCR (text recognition), compression, conversion, protection and printing all run on your computer, including their fonts, dictionaries and language data, which are part of the app.
- Your settings (language, theme, tool preferences and, if you use them, the AI and server settings below) are kept in the app’s local storage on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes them.
- Files received from your phone (section 3) are saved in a folder named “Nitxy Inbox” in your user folder, where you can delete them at any time.
3. Nitxy PDF: features that send data, only if you use them
| Feature | What happens |
|---|---|
| Online editing (Nitxy PDF Server) | When you use it, the app sends the PDF you are editing, the edit you requested and, to sign in, your email and password to our server at https://api.nitxy.com over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. The server makes the edit and returns the result. You may instead enter the address of a server you run yourself; data then goes only to that address. See section 6. |
| Free-month code and referrals | When you enter a free-month code in the app, the app sends the code and a random install ID to our server at https://nitxy.com (details in section 4). The app contacts our server again when it starts, but only if you have already entered a code, to receive any extra months you have earned. If you never enter a code, the app never contacts this server. |
| AI tools (summaries, questions, table of contents…) | Nothing happens until you enter your own API key and run a task. Then the text of the pages you selected is sent to the AI provider you chose (for example Google Gemini, Groq, OpenAI, or a local Ollama on your own computer). That provider’s privacy policy applies. Your API key is stored only on your device. We never receive it or the text. |
| Phone → PC transfer | When you switch it on, the app starts a temporary receiver on your computer that is reachable only on your local Wi-Fi network and protected by a random key shown on screen. Files you send from your phone go straight to your PC and nowhere else. You can stop it at any time, and it stops when the app closes. |
4. Nitxy PDF: the free-month offer and referrals
On nitxy.com/nit-pdf-editor-pro/free-month/ you can sign in with your Google account to receive a one-time code for one month of Premium, and a personal link to invite friends. When a friend uses their code, you both receive another free month. This is what we handle for that:
| Data | Why | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Your e-mail address and name from your Google account (we do not receive your Google password, contacts or other Google data) | To identify you, send your code, avoid duplicate accounts and, if you choose, send marketing (section 5). | Until you ask us to delete your account. |
| Your code, your personal referral code, who invited you, how many friends you invited and how many of them activated | To give each person the free months they have earned. | Until you ask us to delete your account. |
| Your Premium end date | To unlock Premium until that date. | Until you ask us to delete your account. |
| A random install ID created by the app (not linked to your hardware, name or e-mail address, except through the code you enter) | So that one free-month code can be used on one PC, and so that a signed token we return only works on that PC. | Until you ask us to delete your account. |
| Your IP address | To limit repeated attempts and abuse. It is kept in a short-lived table and deleted within 24 hours; it also appears in normal web-server logs (section 6). | 24 hours (limit table); logs as in section 6. |
| Your marketing choice (yes/no) and when you made it | To respect your consent (section 5). | Until you ask us to delete your account. |
On the free-month page, the page stores your referral code in your browser’s local storage for up to 30 days (so a friend’s invitation is not lost when they sign in), and Google’s sign-in service stores its own sign-in state in your browser. The free-month page itself uses no advertising or analytics scripts. A small offer pop-up on other pages of our site remembers in your browser’s local storage that you have seen or closed it, so that it does not keep appearing.
In the app, after you enter a code, a small signed token (it says until when Premium is active and for which install ID) is stored on your device. The app checks it offline; you can remove it by clearing the app’s data.
Sign-in is provided by Google (Firebase Authentication). Google processes your sign-in under its own privacy policy. We use only the e-mail address, name and account ID that Google returns after you agree.
5. Marketing e-mail and advertising
- Your code e-mail is not marketing. We send it because you asked for the code.
- Marketing is optional and needs your consent. The box “Send me product updates and offers by e-mail” on the free-month sign-up page is unticked by default. Only if you tick it do we add your e-mail address and first name to our marketing list and send you news and offers about our products.
- Advertising. If you ticked that box, we may upload a scrambled (hashed) version of your e-mail address to an advertising platform, such as Google Ads or Meta, so that it can show our ads to you or to similar people, or leave you out of ads for something you already have. We never do this for people who did not tick the box. The platform processes that data under its own privacy policy.
- Stopping. You can untick the box at any time on the sign-up page after signing in, click “unsubscribe” in any marketing e-mail, or e-mail us. We then remove you from the list and stop advertising uploads. Please allow a few days for platforms to apply a removal. Your code and Premium time stay valid.
- Other Nitxy accounts. If you have an account in another Nitxy app or on the website, you can opt out of marketing communications at any time by e-mailing us (section 14).
6. Nitxy PDF: our servers, how we use and keep data
- Online editing. If you use it, we receive your e-mail address and password (stored only as a secure hash), the PDF you send and the details of the edit you ask for. We use them only to sign you in, carry out the edit, keep the service secure and fix errors. Your PDF is deleted from the server right after the edit is finished and you have received the result. Your online-editing account is kept until you ask us to delete it.
- Logs. Standard server logs (IP address, time and type of each request) are used only for security and to find and fix errors, and are kept for a limited period.
- Security. Data travels between the app, the website and our servers over HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed. Free-month tokens are digitally signed so they cannot be forged. Access to the servers is restricted to us.
- No AI training, no selling. We do not use your documents to train any AI model and we do not sell your data.
- The web version. If you use a Nitxy PDF web app that connects to the same server, the same rules apply to the data you send through it.
7. Nitxy PDF: purchases and the Premium subscription
The app is free to download. Some features are part of an optional Premium subscription, sold through the Microsoft Store. Payment, billing, renewal, free trials, refunds and cancellation are handled entirely by Microsoft under Microsoft’s terms and privacy statement. We never see your payment details. The app only asks the Microsoft Store whether your subscription is active so it can unlock Premium features. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Microsoft account (account.microsoft.com/services) or in the Microsoft Store under Library. A free-month code is separate from a Microsoft subscription: it never charges you and does not renew.
8. The English Speaking app
This section covers our English Speaking app. It does not change sections 2 to 7, which describe Nitxy PDF.
Information we collect
When you create an account or use the English Speaking app, we may collect:
- Name and email address
- Profile information you provide
- Voice recordings during speaking practice
- Learning progress and performance data
We also automatically collect:
- Device information (type, operating system)
- App usage data and analytics
- IP address and location data
How we use your information
- To provide and improve our English speaking services
- To personalize your learning experience
- To analyze speaking patterns and give you feedback
- To send important updates and notifications
- To improve our AI and app functionality
Security and retention
We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. Your voice recordings are processed securely and are not shared with third parties for advertising purposes. We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the services. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (section 14).
9. Our website, nitxy.com
- Sign-in. If you sign in with Google on our website, we store your Google account ID, e-mail address, name, profile picture link, the time you signed up and the time you last signed in, so that we can recognise you.
- Page-view and event records. Once you have scrolled, tapped or pressed a key on a page (or a few seconds after it loads), our site records which page was opened, the page you came from, the page title and your browser’s user-agent text, together with your account ID if you are signed in. It also records when you sign up or sign in. We use these records to see how the site is used and to find problems.
- Google Analytics. Our site uses Google Analytics to measure visits (pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address and how you arrived). Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers. You can block them in your browser settings or with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
- Where this does not apply. The Nitxy PDF app contains none of these tools (section 2), and the free-month page uses no analytics or advertising scripts (section 4).
10. Who receives your data
| Recipient | What for |
|---|---|
| Google (Firebase Authentication and database) | Signing you in on our website and storing the website records in section 9. |
| Google Analytics | Measuring visits to our website (section 9). |
| Brevo (e-mail service) | Sending your code e-mail and, if you agreed, our marketing e-mail. Brevo receives your e-mail address and first name. |
| Our hosting provider | Running our website and servers. It acts on our behalf and may not use the data for any other purpose. |
| Service providers for the English Speaking app | Running the app and its analytics, voice and AI features (section 8). They act on our behalf. Voice recordings are not shared with third parties for advertising. |
| Advertising platforms (Google, Meta), only if you agreed to marketing | The hashed e-mail address described in section 5. |
| Microsoft | Purchases and subscriptions (section 7). |
| The AI provider or server you choose | Section 3. |
| Authorities | Only where the law requires us to. |
We do not sell your data. These companies may process data in countries other than your own; they apply their own safeguards, described in their policies.
11. Your choices and rights
- You can use the Nitxy PDF app fully without creating an account, entering a code or contacting our servers.
- You can ask us at any time to access, correct, export or delete your account and any data we hold about you, to withdraw your consent to marketing, or to stop using your data for advertising. E-mail us (section 14) from the address you signed up with. We respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. When we delete your account we remove your record, your codes and install links, and your contact in our marketing list. Months you gave to others stay with them. Your sign-in record at Google can be removed by us on request.
- You can opt out of marketing communications at any time (section 5).
- You control everything stored on your device by deleting your files, clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app.
- For data sent to an AI provider or a server you chose, contact that provider or operator.
- If you think we have mishandled your data you may also complain to the data protection authority where you live (in India, the Data Protection Board; in the EU/UK, your national authority).
Our legal basis is, depending on where you live: your consent (marketing, advertising uploads); performing the service you asked for (your account, code, Premium time, online editing, speaking practice); and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure, preventing abuse and understanding how our site and apps are used (install ID, limits, logs, website records).
12. Children
Our apps are general-purpose tools and are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The free-month sign-up and marketing e-mail are intended for people aged 18 and over; if you are younger, please ask a parent or guardian to sign up. If you believe we have collected information from a child, or that a child has created an account, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date, and describe any significant change in the apps’ update notes. If we start using your data in a new way that needs your consent, we will ask for it first.
